LEAP-NTH Townsville
Cub Scouts

- Current financial registered member of Scouts QLD
- Aim to meet the following requirements:
- Program Essentials Introduction to Cub Scout Section
- Core Outdoor Adventure Skills Stage 2
- Aim to complete 5 nights camping in the outdoors with the Unit or Patrol as a Cub Scout. Four of those nights should be from multi-night camps. This is to prepare the Youth Member for a longer stay away from home and be able to look after themselves.
- If circumstances have prevented you meeting either (or both) badge work & camping requirements, the support of your Cub Scout Leader is sufficient. The Cub Scout should be prepared to stay for a longer than normal camp and the Cub Scout Leader is satisfied they are able to attain this requirement.
- Must be 9.5 years old prior to the start of LEAP and not have had their 11th birthday before end of camp or have special permission from the LEAP Executive

Scouts

Venturer Scouts

- Aim to meet the following requirements:
- Program Essentials Introduction to Venturer Scout Section
- Core Outdoor Adventure Skills Stage 2
- Aim to complete 5 nights camping in the outdoors with the Unit as a Venturer Scout. Four of those nights should be from multi-night camps. This is to prepare the Youth Member for a longer stay away from home and be able to look after themselves.
- If circumstances have prevented you meeting either (or both) badge work & camping requirements, the support of your Venturer Scout Leader and Unit Council is sufficient. The Venturer Scout should be prepared to stay for a longer than normal camp and the Venturer Scout Leader is satisfied they are able to attain this requirement.
- Not have had their 18th birthday before end of camp or have special permission from the LEAP Executive

Blue Cards

Attention, Venturers! If you are registered for the event and your 18th birthday falls during LEAP-NTH Townsville, you are going to need a Blue Card prior to the start of camp.
It can sometimes take a while to recieve a Blue Card, so it would be best to get started on it now so you recieve it in plenty of time.
If you need help with this process, ask your leader for guidance.
Adult Members
- Current financial registered member of Scouts QLD
- All members attending LEAP need to have completed the mandatory e-learning modules WHS for scouting, Child Safe Scouting, and Adult Code of Conduct.Hold a valid, linked Blue Card (with proof of this on their SMS record). Note, Blue Card must remain current throughout the duration of the event.
- Must be willing to serve in any role as determined by the LEAP Executive Team
- Must hold a current ‘Blue Card’ that does not expire during the event.
- Selection for certain roles will require the applicant to hold Wood Badge and/or Certificate of Appointment in the current role, prior to LEAP.
- Depending on your role during camp you may be sleeping and catered for in a different campsite location to your Cubs/Scouts. If your Cub/Scout Patrol has any problems while on camp, the sub-camp leaders will be there to help out.
- Be capable of handling the physical requirements of the event.
