Main Program
The overall program for the LEAP-North and the Sub-Camps will be placed below shortly.
Bump In
Campsite will be open for Scouts to Bump in from 1pm on Sunday (29th June) with all trailers to be removed from campsites and returned to the parking lot before 4pm on Sunday (29th June).
Daytime Activities
Daytime activities will commence directly after parade at 7:30am each day. No Scouts are to be in the campsite during daytime activity periods except on the Campsite Challenge day.
For those Youth going offsite, Subcamps will need to meet at the marshalling area for transportation for departure by 8:00am.
For youth staying onsite, activities and specific directions will be provided at Patrol Council the night before.
Onsite Activities
Patrols will participate in various activities to build their teamwork, leadership and resilience. Activities will commence after the departure of the Offsite activities in locations dependant on the activity being completed. Onsite activities will include activities such as Tent Races, Crate Stacking, STEM, Archery and Media.
Ironman Challenge
This day will see Scouts given the opportunity for a bit of a sleep in and to do some housework (yes that means washing and tidying the campsite) along with a series of challenges to get the competitive spirits flowing.
Offsite Activities
Water Activities Day
Our Water activities day will see Scouts travel to Loam Island and will likely include:
- Canoes
- Standup paddleboard
- Raft building
- Water Games
Vertical Activities Day
The Vertical day will include the opportunity to take in the views over Townsville from the top of Castle Hill for Scouts and Mt Stuart for Venturers and Rovers.
City Adventure
Pitting Sub Camp against Sub Camp, the City Adventure will see Patrols racing to achieve the most points through completion of challenges across the City of Townsville for the great honour winning the LEAP25 Northern Campsite City Adventure Challenge.
Night Activities
Night activities commence at 8:00pm.
Sunday night will commence with an Opening with everyone on site coming together. Youth will then be directed to their Sub Camps for activities.
Each subsequent night will see a different activity with the entire campsite coming together for the duration culminating in the presentation of the Northern LEAP Galah Show on the final night.
Bump Out
Closing will be held at 8:00am after which Official Sub Camp and Patrol photos will be taken.
Campsite will be open for Scouts to Bump Out from 10am on the Saturday with all youth expected to have departed site by 2:00pm.
